  38. Nothing other than that (a) it makes a good demonstration of
  39. multitasking and (b) sometimes it can actually come in handy.

  41. Example: you're online, doing stuff, perhaps in a chat, as I often
  42. am. A friend comes over. He asks you for a copy of some program
  43. you're using and hands you a floppy. On an Amiga, you pop in the
  44. floppy, format it, copy the program to it, eject the disk and hand
  45. it backto him, all the while your online activities have not
  46. stopped one bit (chatting, downloading, whatever) and you can merrily
  47. flip screens between your term program, TCP clients, shell window,
  48. other programs, whatever.

  50. Try that on a Mac, Jack. Fire up ZTerm and get online and go
  51. to, say IRC, and start yakking. Then shove in an unformatted
  52. floppy disk and format it and copy a program to it and watch
  53. what happens to your terminal session.
